Scholarship Fund
The TAFM Scholarship Fund was created to reinforce the high value placed on education in the Tibetan community, to make college more accessible for Tibetan families and to encourage young students to strive for academic excellence.
The program was started in 2001 through the gifts of Dr. Kathi Antolak and Dr. Jack Wallinga, both of whom served on TAFM's Board of Directors for many years. They are continuing the program this year with new donations, and are joined by Tara and Reza Hasnain, who have donated the Aftab Hasnain scholarships, in memory of their son who had a strong urge to pursue the goal of academic excellence, as well as his interests in theater, poetry, and music.
Scholarship recipients will receive a check for $500 to be put toward the first year's college expenses. This year four scholarships will be awarded.
