The Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota (TAFM), a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization invites applicants for the post of Community Director. Part time – 25 hours a week. This position reports directly to the President and Board of Directors of the TAFM. TAFM is dedicated to improving the quality of life of the Tibetan Community in Minnesota, and to preserving Tibetan Cultural heritage, tradition, and language. We need you to help us meet our goals and be the key person in managing our day-to-day office work and help execute TAFM boards’ action plans.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Collect TAFM membership and Green Book dues and maintain up-to-date records
- Provide administrative leadership, manage and maintain the TAFM offices. Attend to office emails and phone calls
- Thoroughly manage the community centers in marketing, scheduling, and promoting the Isanti Hall for various private and public events
- Manage the day-to-day office works including support in accounts payable and receivables
- Stay informed of monthly TAFM board meetings, and assist in executing its action plans
- Help organize, coordinate and participate in the TAFM events and celebrations, fundraisers, and ongoing programs
- Collaborate with grant writer and grant coordinator as necessary
The ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong communication skills in both Tibetan and English
- Independent/ self-starter who can take initiatives with very little supervision
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of relevant work experience
Position Detail
- Working days and hours: Saturdays and Sundays (8 hours per day), and an additional 9 hours of remote work per week.
- Hourly Rate: $20-$25 an hour (based on experience and education)
- Expected to work at both TAFM community Centers (in St. Paul and Isanti, MN)
- This position will be paid $100 per month as an insurance benefit
