The Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota (TAFM) is dedicated to preserving Tibetan culture and sharing it with the broader community. As one of the largest Tibetan communities in the United States, TAFM is proud to foster a sense of identity and belonging among Tibetan Americans and to share the beauty of Tibetan culture with the broader community.
One of our most cherished traditions is Tibetan Opera or Lhamo. This ancient art form combines song, dance, and storytelling. For our students, performing Lhamo isn’t just cultural—it’s deeply personal, connecting them to their roots.
We’re raising funds to:
1. Purchase traditional Tibetan Opera costumes for our student performers. These vibrant costumes are essential for the authenticity and beauty of the performances.
2. Invest in a foldable stage to elevate our students’ performances. This will give them a proper platform to showcase their talent and culture while ensuring the audience can enjoy an unobstructed view.
